Interested in Coaching?

Thank you for your interest in coaching lacrosse. Coaching lacrosse is a rewarding opportunity that allows you to develop with your athlete if you are new to the game or an experienced coach. USA Lacrosse (USAL) and Farmington Youth Lacrosse (FYL) will provide you the necessary training to succeed on your coaching journey. Below are the requirements for coaching for FYL.

Valid USAL Membership

Background Check

Abuse Prevention Training

Assistant Coaches (USAL Bronze Level Certification)

Meet Core Requirements

Cardiac Care, Concussion, and Cultural Competencies

Brief Annual Rules Test

Head Coaches (USAL Silver Level Certification)

Meet Core Requirements

Meet above Bronze Level Certification Requirements

Proper Contact Course

4 Additional Silver Level Courses

USAL also provides practice plans for each age level along with informational videos. The Mobile Coach app also allows you to review and adjust practice plans on the fly.

FYL reimburses coaches for the cost of each certification level.
